FOR CUSTOMS BROKERS & LSPs
Turn research hours into billable capacity.
Every hour your licensed team spends on a first pass is an hour they are not closing files. GingerControl handles the research grind so your brokers focus on the judgment calls only they can make.
The starting point
Brokerages and logistics service providers are squeezed between client expectations and margin pressure. The only way out is to make licensed brokers more productive per hour. GingerControl does that by taking the grind out of research, scaling it through an API when client volume spikes, and embedding into your operations, not by replacing the broker.
What you get
Built around how your team actually works.
Higher files per broker per week
The first pass is already done by the time a licensed broker opens the file, and the API absorbs the volume spikes.
A first pass you can trust
Not a black box. Every classification comes with the GRI reasoning, so review is faster, not riskier.
Client-facing explanations, ready to send
Every answer is written in plain English so your team can forward it without rewriting.
BROKER WORKFLOW
AI does the reading, your broker does the deciding.
The broker is still the one signing off. But instead of starting from a blank page, they start from a proposed classification, the reasoning, and the alternatives Ginger considered. Decisions get faster without getting looser.
SCALE AND EMBED
Same team, more files, no burnout.
Most brokerages we talk to are not short on demand, they are short on hours. The Trade Compliance API takes up to 200 products per call so client batches do not become bottlenecks, and our AI Integration and Automation services wire Ginger into the systems your team already uses. Research time turns into review time, without compressing the care that goes into each file.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Is there a batch HTS classification API for brokers and 3PLs?
Yes. The Trade Compliance API is built for brokerage and logistics volume, batching up to 200 items per call and scaling from 1,000 to over 100,000 requests per day on dedicated keys with an SLA. Every result carries its GRI reasoning, so a licensed broker reviews a proposed classification and its basis instead of starting from a blank page. It compounds your licensed capacity rather than replacing the broker. We are the research layer; your team still files the entries and signs off.
How do we classify high-volume parcels after de minimis changes?
You classify each parcel to a real HTS code the same way you would a formal entry, just at parcel speed and scale. With de minimis narrowing, shipments that used to clear without a code now need one plus a duty, and manual research does not scale to that count. GingerControl's API classifies and returns the full tariff stack per item in one call, batching to 200, so per-parcel latency stays workable. We generate the code and duty; the entry itself stays in your ABI workflow.
How do we keep classification consistent across brokers?
Consistency comes from making one reasoning methodology the default, so the same product resolves to the same code regardless of which broker opens the file. Different desks reaching different codes for identical goods is the usual source of rework and client disputes. GingerControl applies the same GRI 1 through 6 logic to every item and attaches the reasoning, so review is faster and drift is visible. The broker still makes the judgment call; the tool removes the variance underneath it, it does not remove the human sign-off.
Can I classify and calculate duty in one API call?
Yes. A single Trade Compliance API call returns the HTS classification and the complete duty picture, base MFN plus Section 122, 232, 301 and Chapter 99, and resolves split-code composite duty like Chapter 91 server-side into a components array. Section 232 is auto-detected from metal content and pour country. For a broker, that means the code and the landed duty come back together instead of a second lookup. It computes the duty owed; it does not remit payment to CBP or file the entry.
How do we make CF-28 and CF-29 responses defensible at scale?
Defensibility comes from keeping the reasoning behind every classification, so when a CF-28 or CF-29 lands you already hold the basis instead of reconstructing it. GingerControl attaches an audit-ready reasoning report grounded in Section and Chapter Notes with CROSS citations to each determination, and the Parts Library keeps a timestamped Selection History as evidence of the decision path. Across thousands of files that record is your reasonable-care trail. We supply the documented basis; we are not legal counsel and do not respond to CBP for you.
