Yes. GingerControl offers self-serve credit packs starting at $10 for 10 classifications, so you pay per product instead of signing an enterprise contract. If you import a modest catalog and have no compliance desk, you get the same GRI-based reasoning engine the larger teams use, with a plain-English explanation and cited rulings on every answer. We are software, not your broker, so you still file entries the way you do today, we just make the classification defensible.
Do I qualify for duty drawback as a small importer?
You may qualify if you import goods and later export them, or use them to make something you export, regardless of your size. There is no volume floor to be eligible, though very small refund amounts can cost more to file than they return. GingerControl estimates your recoverable duty up front so you can see if it is worth pursuing, then a specialist drawback partner executes the filing. We do not guarantee a recovery amount or CBP acceptance, we help you decide before you commit.
How do I handle tariffs as a small business without a trade team?

Is my customs broker overcharging me?
You cannot know until you check the freight invoices and duty payments against what was actually owed, and most small importers never audit either. GingerControl offers a Freight Audit to flag likely invoice errors and PO Reconciliation to match what you ordered against what you were billed and what cleared. As an attributed industry estimate, roughly 5 to 10 percent of freight and parcel invoices carry some kind of error. We surface the discrepancies, then you take them up with your broker or carrier.
How do I recover overpaid tariffs without a big trade team?
Overpaid duty is usually recovered through duty drawback or, for 2025 IEEPA duties after the 2026 Supreme Court ruling, an IEEPA refund, and neither needs in-house headcount. GingerControl estimates your drawback and a partner files it, and for IEEPA we file the full refund package ourselves. If a wrong classification caused the overpayment, our HTS research gives you an audit-ready basis to correct it. We never promise a specific refund or that CBP will accept it, we estimate and file.
Do I need to become a customs expert to import correctly?
No, you need the right answer per product, not a mastery of the tariff schedule. A small importer's real risk is that one misclassification quietly repeats across every shipment of a SKU.
